Sometimes God allows everything to go dark except the path that leads to Him. That can feel like loss, It can feel like your world is crumbling, or like He has left you behind. Maybe it’s a broken relationship, a broken heart, a diagnosis, or financial ruin. Whatever it is, in those moments, we have to remember that it isn’t Him that has changed. Instead, our perspective of Him has. I have been there. I’ve had moments where I felt like everything was crumbling. Like everything around me was being taken. Initially, I responded like a spoiled child. I distanced myself, I pulled away…and in that space that I created between myself and God, I convinced myself that He didn’t care about me if He let my life fall apart. What an enourmous lie. But that was my PERSPECTIVE. I think sometimes we forget that there is a difference between what we see (our perspective) and the TRUTH. I think we forget that one can be swayed and manipulated by the enemy…while the other, the TRUTH, remains solid and unchanged no matter what is going on around us. As the fog cleared, I started to see that He had never changed, but I had. I had let my circumstances change me and in turn had let my hurts and disappointments define HIM, rather than declaring the TRUTH of who He is over my circumstances. The whole time, He remained faithful. As everything around me came down…He continued calling me to the easel…and calling me to Him. Because He is all that I need. And I had forgotten that no matter what falls apart or disappears out of my life…He is where my whole world lies. He is where my joy lives, He is where my confidence and security are. He is the ONE AND ONLY guarantee. So now…as I remind myself of who He is, I can face any battle. I can face any loss. I can make any sacrifice. He is my ultimate destination. He is where my path leads…and I am grateful that He continuously and lovingly redirects my steps in His direction. THAT IS LOVE. So moving forward, let’s do it focused on TRUTH…focused on Him, and where He wants us to go. Don’t look back…don’t think about what you have lost to get here. Just follow Him and the path that He has laid before you. It is good. ❤️
